Now for some useful information. Sailor Moon is about a 14 year-old girl named Serena. She meets a talking cat on the way to school and ends up finding out she is Sailor Moon. She's the biggest clutz in existance(but cute). So Tuxedo Mask has to come and save her. He does so the entire series. She fights that way for a while, then meets Amy, a genius girl(and really cute too!). She turns out to be Sailor Mercury, and they join up and fight evil. Then they meet Raye(attractive, but a viper's temper) at the Cherry Hill Temple. She ends up being Sailor Mars. So there are now 3 scouts. Jedite, the general from the Negaverse who has been fighting the Scouts, gets locked in eternal sleep by Queen Beryl. So Nephlite(the handsome one) is put in charge of gathering energy. Molly falls in love with him, and eventually he comes about with the same feelings. Then Zoisite kills him. It's a cool episode, and a very touching death scene.

So then Zoisite is put in charge, but this time, to search for the Rainbow Crystals, not energy. Lotsa stuff happening here, and we find out more about her romance with Malachite(white-haired jerk). Yes, Zoisite was a guy in the original version. Anyways, Lita(sexy, but too srong-willed for my tastes), who is Sailor Jupiter, comes on the scene. She kicks around the bad guys pretty well. Sailor Moon also gets the Moon Wand, which is pretty cool. At the end of Zoisite's time, Mina, Sailor Venus, shows up. Beryl kills off Zoisite, and Malachite is all who is left. And he is strong. (I think Nephlite would be his match at least, if he was provoked right.)

And so the last general fights against them for a while, and he does a fairly good job, actually. Then Sailor Moon manages to reflect an energy blade back on Malachite, killing him. Then everyone faces off against Queen Beryl. This was originally 3 episodes, and a good bit different, so I'll explain some of it. The Scouts get killed in those attacks. And they cut out the really cool part with the final showdown. That ball of light went through the entire Negaverse and destroyed all of it, along with Sailor Moon. (Yes, the Negaverse doesn't exist afterwards. Alan and Ann and all the others don't really come from the Negaverse, that was just a messed up thing done in the US version. BTW, it was originally called the Dark Kingdom.) So they all end up in one of those wierd alternate dimensions or something, and she loses the moon wand. Queen Serenity resurrects them and everyone is back where they started pretty much. In the first episode with Alan and Ann, you get a small flashback where she lost the wand, but that's all that remains of the whole scene.

So then a meteor-thingie crashes in Tokyo and invades an apartment building. We find two aliens looking for energy, just like the Negaverse. Their names end up being Alan and Ann(it was originally Ail and Ann). They disquise themselves and live the day as normal students and spend their free time sending out Cardian monsters to gather energy. The flute Alan plays is cool(I want one just like it! Well, if I could play it, that is...) and he uses it to release the Cardians and sometimes to control them. Or to just Impress the girls. Serena he develops a liking for especially and Ann goes after Darien. Ann gets real jealous and they fight among themselves as much as against the Scouts, maybe more so. In the meantime, Serena is wasting all her time(what else is new? ^_^) trying to get Darien's memories back since Queen Serenity erased them all. Lotsa things happening in this part of it and eventually there's a big showdown episode where the Doom Tree starts talking and gets healed by Sailor Moon. Darien gets his memories back and Alan and Ann are back in love and happy and go off somewhere else. The end of that saga.

We start this saga of the series nice and romantic. Since Darien has all his memories back, he's in love with Serena again and they're off on a date and everything. Then some portal opens up and Reeny(Chibi-usa in the Japanese) falls out of the sky into Darien's lap. And just happens to kiss him on the way down, too. So she annoyed Serena from the start. She demands the Silver Crystal and then vanishes for a while. Then she hypnotizes Serena's family and moves in there. And of course she's always fighting with Serena, but nobody else can understand why Serena doesn't like her. Now for the bad guys. There's Rubeus and the Four Sisters. Prisma(Don't really like her all that much), Catsy(Could be attractive, with a normal outfit), Birty(I think she's the sexiest of them all. Love her outfit too), and Avery(Better than Prisma, but nor much). They fight for who gets to do the missions and also for which one Rubeus likes. None of them, obviously. He's the major villian. Anyways, they come to old Tokyo to fill certain spots that are points in the future Crystal Tokyo with negative energy. If the succeed, then the future Crystal Tokyo will be destroyed. And a second plot in here. Darien is told by a dream to stay away from Serena or bad stuff will happen. Although it sounds like the Wiseman, it's actually Prince Darien from the future.

The Four Sisters all try their own plans and they all fail. So in the end once each of their final plans fails they try to destroy themselves, but the Sailor Scouts heal them. Which is pretty cool. Now comes the cool parts.

*Note: Some parts are obviously different, especially noticeable as you go further from here. When the first episodes were translated, DIC was under censorship control of Saban Entertainment. When a show is broadcast on a major network(CBS, FOX, UPN, etc.) they have to comply with pretty heavy censorship standards. And Sailor Moon had to be put through it all of course, making it much more kid-like than it was originally intended. Dragon Ball Z also had this problem. Watch the earlier episodes and the new ones. Two things you notice: The newer ones show blood(the earlier ones didn't) and the characters now refer to death directly(not always 'another dimension' or some junk like that). Anyways, there's the bit on censorship that Sailor Moon suffered.

Now then. After the sisters were changed, Rubeus came down and captured Reeny, then held the Sailor Scouts hostage as well. Sailor Moon comes and manages to defeat him, and he goes suicidal. (Little fact: In one scene you can see the Scouts hanging in the air for a second. Originally they were chained to crosses by Rubeus, but for the US version, they had to edit it out because of religious stuff.) Everyone escapes and Rubeus dies.

Next up is Emerald. She tries to plant little statues into focus points of negative energy. This one gets some strong opponents for the Scouts, and Reeny's powers start to show up. This goes on a little while, and then Emerald is called back to the future. The Sailor Scouts, Tuxedo Mask and Reeny return to the future as well. They meet with Sailor Pluto who sends them through the doors of time to Crystal Tokyo. Well, it's a dump when they get there. At the Crystal Palace they meet Prince Darien and see where Neo-Queen Serenity is sleeping. Wiseman tricks Emerald and she is destroyed. At this point the hidden plans of Wiseman start to show.

After that encounter, they eventually return to their normal time, except Reeny has been kidnapped. Using her somewhat confused memory, Wiseman turns her into the famous Dark Lady. (Look around long enough, you'll understand why I call her famous). So all the way back to the past again. Prince Diamond(the head of the family) and Dark Lady plant the Dark Crystal in the center of Tokyo. Dark Lady's powers are used to make it grow incredibly fast. Sapphire, who is rather wary about things, discovers Wiseman's true intentions and attempts to warn Diamond(who is his brother). Wiseman gets to him first and kills him. So now Diamond *knows* something isn't right. Finally the Sailor Scouts and Tuxedo Mask force their way into the Dark Crystal. Sailor Moon has to fight Diamond, who reveals his love for her and learns that peace may be the best path after all. Unfortunately, Wiseman kills him soon after.

Final battle time(yay!). Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask are able to show Dark Lady the truth and she becomes Reeny again. Obviously Wiseman isn't happy, and opens the gateway for the Doom Phantom. Sailor Moon becomes Neo-Queen Serentiy and uses the Silver Crystal to fight the Wiseman. Reeny also finds out that the Crystal in her own time had vanished into her own body! It's released and she joins her mother in the battle. The Sailor Scouts lend their powers and the Wiseman gets blasted WAY out of existance. Happy ending again. :)
